Getting ridiculous!

now, our government wants to legislate law to fine fare cheats (people who
underpay when taking the bus/taxi). wtf??? can you believe it?? this is what
happens when a privatised company is owned by the government (er.. or its
extended investment arm, whatever). and i haven't even start bitching about
why public transport companies are privatised in the first place yet!! bloody hell!!

so how? how are they going to enforce it once it is implemented? every bus
route to include a police post stop to drop off 'suspected' fare cheats?? or the
drivers have to multi-task and focus more on the bus company's bottomline
than to concentrate on driving safely?? this is so ridiculous.

since implementing the EZ-Link system, - by the way, one of the few initial
objectives of implementing this multi-million dollar system was to reduce
incidences of 'fare cheats' - there were sooooooooooooooooooo many cases
of passengers being OVERCHARGED due to a glitch in the system. and what
happen?? the passengers have to take the trouble to go to specific stations
to 'reclaim' the overcharged value. nevermind the long queues at passengers'
expense, nevermind the 'claims' need to be 'looked into' and took days to weeks
to be 'approved'. but did they even SAY SORRY FOR OVERCHARGING???
you wait long long!!

1 country, 2 systems! you kenna overcharged, too bad. you underpay, pay fine or go to jail!

a parent wrote in to the media to complain about her 12 year-old daughter being
abandoned a few bus stops before her house because she was $0.30 short of the
bus fare! and she has to walked back to her house after that. can you imagine
that??? NO MERCY EVEN FOR A KID! i hope all these bastard drivers and bus
companies' personnel get a taste of their own medicine one day.

to the bus drivers : you won't like it if your kids are treated this way. how safe is
singapore?? you're god-damn sure the kids won't get kidnapped? smuggled out
of sg to be sold? won't get into road accidents at all?

and to the bus coys' personnel : bloody hell! if you people were to just get down
from your ivory tower to be in touch with reality, you won't be pushing for such
idiotic, stoopid law!

Another blogger charged under Sedition Act

SINGAPORE : A third person has been charged under the Sedition Act with
promoting feelings of ill-will and hostility between different races of Singapore.

Gan Huai Shi, 17, faces seven charges of posting racist remarks on his blog site.

On September 12, two bloggers were charged with sedition for posting racist
comments online.

Their case will be heard in court again on September 21.

The three are the first bloggers to be charged in Singapore.

Lawyers said the last time the Sedition Act was invoked was at least 10 years ago.

First time offenders can be fined up to $5,000 or jailed up to three years or both.

Subsequent offenders can be jailed up to five years and have their seditious
publications forfeited and destroyed. - CNA/de

A friend once asked me, with all my dissatisfaction about the going-ons in Singapore,
why don't I set up a website to create awareness. Well, now you know. Freedom of
speech does not exist in Singapore, whether on the street, in the coffeeshop, on print
or even on internet! This is a police state.. living in constant fear under the guise of
'national security'. even teenagers, however immature they may be, will not be let off
easily the minute they cross the line with a toe.

please hor, i'm not racist. but there should exist the freedom to think and speak what
we want (at least on Internet!) without the fear of being prosecuted.

Another 2 bloggers being charged

nowadays we better watch what we post.. recent news (here and here) about two
bloggers being charged with Sedition law made me read and re-read my blog again
to see whether i'll be ending up like them. jia latz.. at this point of time, i'm still
wondering if i should take down some of my past posts. for those who think we have
freedom of speech, better think again! our freedom is still limited to the boundaries
of our broad and archaic laws.. so ... *sweat*.. better WATCH what you post!!

For those who don't know what our Sedition Act is, please take your time to figure
out here.. enjoy yourself..

in summary (in my opinion that is), whether you post on your OWN blog, or as a
comment on online forums or commenting another person's blog, and if your comments
have any racist or religious or anti-government sentiment that CAN BE INTERPRETED
(by anyone!) as inciting disharmony and rebellions, and suay suay people complain about
you, then that's it! you better prepare tonnes of $$$ to get the best lawyer to help you
defend your case.. otherwise just be prepared to land your butts in prison.

How to know if You are Obsessed with Harry Potter

1. You find a stick and you sand it and varnish it to make a wand.

2. You carry the afore mentioned "wand" every where you go (just in case).

3. You have learnt at least 10 of the spells in Harry Potter and what they do .

4. You practise these spells every day with your "wand".

5. ... And try to convince your friends that they have worked for you.

6. You believe they have worked for you .

7. You try to persuade your parents to buy you an owl.

8. When they refuse, you say "but look at all the money we could save on stamps".

9. Since they still aren't persuaded you decide to rename your pet hamster Scabbers.

10. You have started calling chemistry Potions class.

11. ... And maths is now Arithmancy.

12. ... And biology is now Herbology.

13. You call the teacher you hate most Professor Snape.

14. You know the Hogwarts school song by heart.

15. ... And have made up a tune to sing it to.

16. You also know both of the songs the sorting hat sings.

17. ... And you have made up a 3rd one for it to sing in the next book.

18. ... And sent this to J K Rowling.

19. As soon as you finish reading The Order of the Phoenix
you start reading The Philosophers Stone again.

20. You always have one of the Harry Potter tapes in your walkman.

21. You are terrified of spiders yet you weren't before you read the Chamber of Secrets.

22. When ever your computer says "You've got mail!" you automatically run outside
and scan the air for owls.

Harry Potter Obsession!

wah.. I haven't post in a long time! spent almost all my waking hours with the kids
and harry potter. bloody hell! i hope HP book 7 will come out asap so that i can get
over this obsession fast. it is not fun waiting another 2 years for a book ok! if only
shakespeare have thought of writing harry potter! er.. on second thoughts, lucky
he didn't.. i don't want to read a macbeth-harry potter kind of play..

anyway i have spent most of my online time surfing HP forums.. a lot of kukus
though! some forummers are juz pricks when they state things like "Professor
Snape is evil!! I HATE him for killing Dumbledore!!" .. wahlauz.. as if Professor
Snape cares! Some forummers complained about the way JK Rowling wrote this
latest book.. saying things like "she shouldn't have killed Dumbledore!", "Harry
and Ginny shouldn't be together!" .. knnz.. go and write your own series of
parry hotter or wat to challenge JK Rowling lahz! talk so much!

by RIGHT, at my age, i shouldn't be so obsessed with HP lah.. coz it was originally
meant to be a Kids' Storybook.. but all thanks to Jelyn lah! One day I was in a
hurry to go to toilet to do BIG business.. so told her to pass me a storybook while
i.. you know.. urghhh in the toilet.. then she handed me this thick book with a funny
cartoon cover.. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.. wahlauz... i thought..
don't have better books meh???? so nevermind.. just flipped a bit to see what it is
all about. KNNZ... that book broke all my previous records!!

first, that was the longest time i sat on a toilet bowl.. (i think i read about 3 chapters
before i decided i didn't want to get piles sitting there longer) .. then second thing,
the whole set of books i have now are the only series i spent a large fortune on
(consider each book costs about $25), not to mention all the VCDs of its movies and
even PC game... knnz... JK Rowling earned a huge percentage from my monthly
allowance... but ok lah... i think quite worth it.. coz my kids enjoyed the vcds. and
sometimes when they are stuck at certain level of the game, they have to ask me
"AHEM" to help them clear the level... where do you find a mom who will stop
washing dishes or clothes and rush to the PC to help you kill the basilisk when you
shout "mommy!! 打king 了!!" (king = basilisk, the last level of the COS game).. and
after that they cheered as if i am really harry potter in real life.... hiakzz...

so you see? that's why i said it is worth it.. coz more or less we have something in
common. not so bad lah i guess.. my youngest kid (that 4 year old!) have even
memorised the names of those characters.. "mommy... 为什么 Ron 很怕?... 为什么
Professor Snake angry??.... " ... kekkeke... SNAPE LAH! wat snake! overall they
like the scenes of those quidditch matches best... but it gets irritating when they ask
me why don't i do a Mrs Weasley and use magic to cook... nbz... then have to take a
bit of time to explain to them harry potter is ONLY fiction... wahlauz.. but honestly
i don't mind a bit of such magic.. will probably make life much easier.. in a way..

will talk more about Harry Potter when i got time. meanwhile, here are some HP
