Life in Singapore

Here are many photos of our "SWISS standard of living and More Good Years".
These are all common sights, mind you. And to think our ministers always brag about
what Asian values, Confucian values, blah blah... MINISTERS GO EAT SHIT! We shouldn't
be treating the old this way, especially when these are the 'pioneers' who help to
make Singapore from a 3rd world country to what we are now!

"You go down New York, Broadway. You will see the beggars,
people of the streets...Where are the beggars in Singapore? Show me."
-- MM Lee Kuan Yew

You can also view the actual figures from a Ministerial Statement by
DPM Lee Hsien Loong on 29 June 2000 titled "CIVIL SERVICE NWC
AWARD, PUBLIC SECTOR SALARY REVISIONS AND REVIEW OF
SALARY BENCHMARKS"

and all these figures do not include the bonuses and pension yet hor!!

Read a Parliament Sitting which was somehow missed out in the local news media.

Excerpt:
"Mr Steve Chia Kiah Hong: Clarification from the Minister. Does any serving
Minister who turns 55 actually receive both salary and pension at the same
time? If yes, should he be serving?

Mr Lee Hsien Loong: I believe the answer is yes. That is the rule for the civil

service, and the Ministers follow the civil service rules."

which means, an MP who is 55 years old or above, beside earning his salary
every month, he also takes the pension every month! and the reason given to
justify this is, civil servants have LESS CPF, so compensated with pension. but
hello.... we have more CPF but knnz.. cannot take out to use one leh!! we can
starve to death or die from sickness but the government die die won't let us
withdraw our CPF to use one hor! but pension different leh... pension is CASH!

and don't forget all the bonuses yet hor.. last heard they were getting MONTHSSSSS
worth of bonuses each year, nevermind the economy was fucked, nevermind tens of thousands
of citizens were jobless, nevermind we can no longer afford to eat char kway teow...

And for the common folks .. how much do you earn? Ask yourself. THINK! Ordinary
folks probably can't earn that much in their lifetime or the next 3 lifetimes!

Also, last I read, they are redesigning the cheap jobs which were held by foreign workers
and to give the (same) jobs but with flowery titles back to the unemployed Singaporeans,
and of coz, at the pay the foreign workers earn lah you think what! so you can be a
Landscape Technician.. wah sounds damn nice right! but in actual fact, you are just
a gardener earning $900+ per month.

forget it.. will talk about this another day.
